Cafe R – Ruthin Craft Centre

Cafe R – Ruthin Craft Centre

Driving to Denbigh one Sunday for work hubs & I were in dire need of sustenance so we dropped into Cafe R.  Cafe R is a cafe & restaurant situated within the Craft Centre at Ruthin.

OK, this isn’t hubs driving – but had to share!  We passed this traditional Romany gypsy caravan en route!

Ruthin Town – North Wales

Ruthin is a very sweet little Welsh market town with a number of interesting places to visit.  Ruthin Castle is a 13th Century castle & has the most beautiful peacocks roaming the grounds.

The road leading up to it has some sweet instagram worthy olde world houses. Ruthin Castle | Married To A Chef Blog

Ruthin Gaol is also worth a visit, or so I am told!  I have yet to, but it is on my list.  I mean, look at the little man!!!

This particular morning, it was a simple coffee & food stop en route to work.

Cafe R – Ruthin Craft Centre

Ruthin Craft Centre feels more like an art hub than a typical craft centre, with high end ceramics & other items for sale.  Nestled within the centre which is quite a modern complex on the outskirts of the town, is Cafe R.

It may have been a Sunday morning, but there were a quite a few people enjoying the spoils.  Ruthin is on a popular motorbike route & cycle route so there are no shortage of partakers on 2 wheels.

The Food at Cafe R

Hubs had coffee & a sausage & egg sandwich, I went straight in for the full breakfast.  Everything was lovely & tasty – including the baked beans.  There’s nothing worse than cheap vinegary baked beans for me!

Look – proper bread!!!  None of that thin mother’s pride crap!

The staff were pleasant enough, very young which for me sometimes means they are less chatty but that is, of course, a generalisation.

All in all it was a very pleasant experience & one I would happily repeat.  Do you have any recommendations for a good breakfast in the Ruthin area?
